Blogcess Number Twenty

Blogcess is here!!!

Reilly says, "The other night I was driving and a black cat ran out in front of me and as I slowed so I wouldn’t hit it I realized I raised my right hand and made three small x’s in the air. It made me laugh because my superstitious self kicked in and the little saying ran through my mind.

“If a black cat crosses your path – - write three x’s in the air – - and all will be fair.” Meaning no bad luck will come my way.

So I thought it would be interesting to find who is superstitious and who isn’t – - so this weeks “It’s Blogcess” is all about those superstitions."

1) On a scale of 1 to 10 how superstitious are you? (10 being very superstitious)

I’d say I’m a two. Sometimes I think of them, but don't worry much about it.

2) Do you read your horoscope? How often?

I don’t read my horoscope.  When I was in high school, I studied signs and found it interesting.  Horoscopes are so vague and can be applied so easily.

2) What is one superstition you heed?

I do not get up on the wrong side of the bed.  The wrong side is the side you did NOT get into.  Not sure where I heard this and I don't know if it is commonly known.

4) What is one of the most silly superstitions you’ve ever heard?

You can predict the sex of a baby if you hold a needle over a pregnate woman's belly.  It depends on which way it swings in circle (clockwise vs counter-clockwise) .

5) Let’s spread some “It’s Blogcess” linky love?

Again, I am going to pull some of my favorite quotes of the week.

Also, there's a difference between talking about something and talking about the talking about that something, which I'm kind of doing right now.

.....but here is a story of my ancestors the Bowens, who should never have moved to Zanesville, Ohio in the 1830s.

The only thing keeping me from driving my pen into my eyes right now is that I am actually able to blog right now!!

Thanks for the link! My quote, too, is also rather funny out of context. Of course, it is probably just as funny in context too....

I never knew that was what they meant by getting up on the wrong side of the bed. That makes good sense and now I know I'll be watching that too ;)

Learn something new every day!

Thanks for playing, Amy - - as always I enjoyed your responses - - and btw, Happy Easter :)
