My First Bowl Game
The first Bowl game that I attended was the first Texas game that I attended. Texas made it to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans againts Virginia Tech. My husband found tickets, so we drove there. We drove as far as my husband could on Friday night and were very close to New Orleans. Saturday morning we made it to Orleans, had lunch, and went to a pre-game party to kill some time before the game. When we were waiting for the game to start a couple offered us tickets that were better than theirs. They had gotten some with their friends. We took the tickets and I gave our to a police officer to find someone who needed them. I did not want to get in trouble for selling them.
We had good seats and the Sugar Bowl stadium was neat. But Texas ended up losing. And my husband does not take Texas losing very well. So instead of heading to New Orleans to party and have a grand ole time, we headed for home. We stopped at a Domino's delivery place for dinner and ate in the car. And my husband drove until he found a place for us to stay. Woke up the next morning and headed the rest of the way home.
You would think this would leave a bad taste in my mouth, but we ended up going to a home game. And I was hooked. And we won.
But it is still the same when we lose. No party after. STRAIGHT HOME.
The Rose Bowl will be different since we can't go straight home. But I know we will win, so it will not be an issue. Yes, we will win. We ARE going to win. We are GOING to win. We are going to WIN.
