Pre-game Summary - Rose Bowl

We got up early since we figured there would be mucho traffic and people.  We got to Union Station around 7am.  Parking was full there, so we found a parkling lot right next to it.  Once we were in Union Station, we realized they were ready for the Rose Bowl.  Signs and helpful people everywhere.

The ride on the train was interesting.  It took us through neighborhoods and if we had been going slow, we could have looked in people windows.  I even saw a yard with chickens.

Once we got to our desination, we got of the train and saw a LA County Sheriff with a Longhorn hat on.  We got a picture with him.  Very cool.  (Picture count 1) We walked a few blocks with the rest of the flow and realized that we were on the Rose Bowl Parade route.  Took a few pictures and came to realization that this was the ROSE BOWL PARADE!!!  The parade you see on TV!!!  Then about 10 minutes later the Texas Longhorn Band marched by and I got a few more pictures.  (Picture count 16)

To the right of where we were standing was a bar that was hosting a party for the LA Texas Exes.  We payed the cover charge and had breakfast there.  I had an awesome burrito with eggs, bacon and thinly cut ham.  Our cover change went to the local chapter's scholarship fund.  Since we were just two people at a table for 6 and the place was getting full, we invited a couple to sit with us.  The gentleman was so drunk he could not speak clearly and all you could do was nod your head.  (Picture count 18)

What is really amazing about everything that has occured to this point is the only thing we planned was the train ride.  Everything else just worked out right.

Now we walk a few block to the shuttles and on the way we see the Texas float stopped and get more pictures.  (Picture count 26)  We learned later that it was broke down.

On to the shuttles and luckily the wait was not to long.  They had the logistic down pat.  (Picture count 27)

We got to the Rose Bowl and hooked up with a friend to see if he need our extra tickets.  We were hoping to get them to a local Navy service person.  We found out there were more tickets available than service people.  I wish I would have know so we could have found someone on our own.

We found a tailgate with some friends and chatted for awhile.  Headed over to greet the team, which is a tradition for us.  (Picture count 31)  After they came in we headed to our seats.

You wouldn't happen to have pictures of the band doing the Wall to Wall Drill at halftime during the Rose Bowl?
