Today you are 4

Inspired by Dooce and written in a similar manner, here is a letter to my youngest daughter.

My youngest child, today you turn 4.  You are my daredevil and are not afraid to try anything.  You know exactly what you want and are very upset when you don't get it.  You love to change clothes and tell me "It's my thing."  You love playing with your dolls and animals.  Your favorite foods are ketchup, fish sticks, green beans, and pasta.  You love wearing chapstick and putting on lotion.  And when you are dressed up or just feeling good, you walk very prissy.

You are still caught between cuteness and beauty.  You hair has grown since you cut it yourself.  It is very thick with a little wave.  You eyes are still a beautiful blue.  You are also very smart.  You know the rules for the silent E, you know your alphabet and your numbers.  You love to color and draw.  And you love to hug and be tickled.  You also are my little model and love to have your picture taken.

Youngest, you are helping me to be a better parent.  I know you will continue to challenge my parenting skills and I love you for it.

During the next year, I promise to keep you stocked with chapstick, help you learn to ride your bike, and hug you more than you need it.

Happy Birthday Amy's youngest! That's a cute letter. I have to admit that I get such a giggle when I see kids who cut their own hair, I don't know why...
