Value Combo (Blogcess and Carnival of Recipes)

It's Blogcess will kill two birds with one stone for me this week.  I can take care of it and the Carnival of Recipes!!!

Uptown Girl says "I’m sitting here in the middle of an empty room and am even more close to the move than ever, but I couldn’t let this week go by without posting “It’s Blogcess” – - so here it is!

I enjoy trying new dishes – - so this week “It’s Blogcess” is all about favorite appetizers. This way we can all get some great new recipes to try on our family and friends this summer."

 1) What is your favorite appetizer to prepare?

I don't really have a favorite, but I have one that is easy to make.  When it comes to cooking, I am all about easy.  Reilly's appetizer recipe (antipasto) vs Sausage Cheese snacks are like ying to yang.  Cheap to expensivie.  Fancy to Plain.   But I know both are delish.

2) How did you learn how to make it?

My Mom made it once and then I found the recipe in a magizine.

3) Will you share the recipe with us?

a) Yes
b) No

4) What is the recipe? For those who don’t want to share it – - c’mon, we won’t tell anyone else.

Sausage Cheese Snacks

1 lb sausage
10 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups Bisquick

Mix together well.  Shape into balls.  Bake on a cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 350.

5) Let’s spread some “It’s Blogcess” linky love?

Rocket Jones with lyrics to a great song.  The rest of his blog is entertaining also.
Cox and Forkum with a good cartoon.
Inneroutings.  I found this blog on Blog Explosion and lost the link until she commented today.

OK.... two things here...

If you have a recipe send it to recipe.carnival(at)gmail(dot)com.

If you want to join in on the "It's Blogcess" meme, cut and paste from Uptown Girl's post and link back to her. Or comment on her post.

I tried to make this recipe from memory once and accidentally improved upon it.

Brown the sausage and drain it.

Mix the Bisquick with shredded cheese, dry mustard, a little garlic powder, and hot sauce. Add enough milk to moisten.

Work-in the browned sausage (easier with bare, clean hands).

Form into little balls and bake. Amazingly awesome.

(Mom always said, "May all your disasters be edible.")

Sausage is good. Approximately how large should these sausage balls be prior to baking? Has a lot to do with proper cooking, yes? thanks.
